Cleric Urges Christians to Avoid Vengeful Fasting

Apostle John Okoriko, the founder of Solid Rock Kingdom Church in Akwa Ibom State, cautioned Christians against the practice of fasting for vengeance during the monthly Interactive Service at Life Tabernacle in Eket. He described this approach as foolhardy and stated that God does not answer such prayers.

Okoriko discussed the theme "Why Prayer and Fasting Fail," explaining that the ineffectiveness of prayer and fasting often stems from praying amiss and not adhering to God's ordinances. He noted that for prayers to yield results, Christians must act in accordance with their prayers, rather than solely relying on divine intervention.

He identified unbelief and ingratitude as significant barriers to answered prayers. Okoriko urged Christians to transform their prayers into actionable steps, emphasizing that one must engage in legitimate work to achieve their goals, such as becoming financially successful, rather than waiting passively for blessings.
