Wike's Aide Denies Salary Owings Amidst FCT Worker Strike

A media aide to Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, responding to claims by the FCT Ministry's media aide, denied owing workers salaries in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The FCTA and FCDA have reportedly paid salaries up to date.

The ongoing strike by FCT workers, including demands for promotions and arrears, has led to a court order suspending the industrial action. Governor Wike's aide emphasized that the strike is not due to unpaid salaries but rather unmet demands.

The workers had commenced the strike on January 19, citing grievances with the FCT administration. The Ministry of the Federal Capital Territory has warned workers to resume work or face disciplinary action following the court order.
