Braimoh Challenges ADC Over Illegal Candidate Substitution

A crisis has emerged in the Edo North chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as Prince Musa Braimoh challenges his alleged illegal replacement as the senatorial candidate for the district. Braimoh was initially selected during the party's primary election, and his name was included in the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) initial candidate list.

However, the final list released by INEC featured Aruna Abubakar as the ADC candidate. Braimoh has filed a suit at the Federal High Court in Abuja, asserting that he was the only aspirant who purchased a nomination form and participated in the primary monitored by INEC.

He expressed shock at the substitution, claiming it was orchestrated by the ADC leadership in Edo North in collusion with State Chairman Hon. Pius Alile. Braimoh alleged that he faced victimization for not supporting Rotimi Amaechi during the ADC presidential primary, as he had pledged allegiance to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

An anonymous ADC leader accused Braimoh of anti-party activities, suggesting he aimed to leverage the party's ticket for financial gain. Chris Ojeikere, the State Publicity Secretary of the ADC, acknowledged Braimoh's grievances and indicated that the party would seek an internal resolution.
