Suicide Bomber Kills 14 at Pakistan Peace Rally

On Sunday, a suicide bomber attacked a public anti-militant demonstration in Kabal, Pakistan, resulting in the deaths of 14 individuals, comprising nine civilians and five police officers. Over two dozen others sustained injuries in the blast, which occurred as hundreds gathered near the local police station to demand peace and urge the government to eliminate armed militants.

The crowd was chanting anti-militant slogans when the explosives detonated, leading to a scene of destruction. Although no group immediately claimed responsibility, suspicion fell on Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Local residents expressed growing anger over the resurgence of violence in the Swat Valley, a region that had previously been cleared of armed groups. Pakistani officials condemned the attack and vowed to continue operations against armed networks.

The incident underscores the severe security challenges in the area, as citizens risk their safety to demand protection from violence.
