Igboho Foils Police Arrest of Yoruba Advocate in Oyo

On Tuesday, Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, intervened to stop police officers from arresting Abdulazeez Adegbola, referred to as Tani Olohun, in Ibadan, Oyo State. The attempted arrest was met with resistance from Tani Olohun and local residents, who claimed the officers were not legitimate police but rather kidnappers.

Videos shared online depicted a scuffle, with one resident asserting that the officers were armed and lacked proper identification. Following the incident, Tani Olohun's family contacted Igboho, who arrived with supporters and communicated with an alleged senior police official.

The Oyo State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, acknowledged the attempted arrest but did not provide further details, stating that a press release would be issued soon. The circumstances surrounding the arrest attempt, including the validity of the officers' actions, remain unclear.
