Protest Erupts Over Ondo Rep's Omission from APC List

On Wednesday, supporters of Abiola Makind, a member of the House of Representatives for Ondo East and Ondo West, protested in Akure, Ondo State, following his omission from the APC candidate list released by the national secretariat of the Progress Congress. Makind, who sought a third term, had participated in the party's primary elections, which were conducted last month.

However, his name was excluded from the candidate list, leading to widespread discontent among his supporters. Hundreds of APC members, primarily women, marched through the streets of Akure, expressing their dissatisfaction and describing the situation as an injustice.

They carried placards with messages demanding that the truth prevail and rejecting the perceived injustice. Party chieftain Isaac Oyebad emphasized the need to defend the mandate given to Makind, while Ifeoluwa Olasanoy described the protest as a struggle for truth and transparency within the party.
