Legal Expert Warns of INEC Deadline Issues for ADC

On Wednesday, senior lawyer Magaji Mato, SAN, raised concerns about the challenges that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and other political parties may face due to the deadlines established by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Mato highlighted that the Supreme Court's failure to deliver judgments promptly, particularly in urgent cases, could have significant implications for Nigeria's democracy.

He pointed out that the Constitution allows the court a three-month period to deliver judgments, but delays could render such judgments ineffective, potentially triggering political tension and disrupting the electoral process. Mato's remarks underscore the urgency for faster judicial decisions to maintain the integrity of the electoral system in Nigeria.
