Security Guard Killed in Suspected Cult Attack in Lagos

On Friday night, a security officer identified only as Stanley was shot dead during a suspected cult attack in Royale Estate, Sangotedo, Lagos. The attack occurred between 10 PM and 11 PM when cultists stormed the estate and opened fire indiscriminately.

A source reported that Stanley was shot multiple times, including in the head, before the assailants fled the scene after firing shots into the air. The incident was confirmed by Abimbola Adebisi, spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, who stated that the victim was shot by two unidentified individuals riding a motorcycle.

An investigation has been launched, but no suspects have been apprehended yet. This incident follows another attack weeks earlier, where a security guard named Godwin was allegedly killed by suspected cultists in the Abule Ijesha area of Yaba, Lagos State.
