Thugs Block Peter Obi's Convoy in Benue State Incident

On Tuesday, in Benue State, suspected thugs reportedly barricaded a road used by Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). Esther Umoh, Obi's media aide, raised the alarm in a post on social media platform 𝕏, stating that the blockade occurred along Boko Road, near the Nigerian Air Force Base.

Umoh claimed the obstruction was intended to prevent Obi's convoy from proceeding further into the state. She shared a video that purportedly showed the blockade.

In another video, individuals were seen running behind vehicles believed to be part of Obi's convoy, with Umoh alleging that they were attempting to attack members of the entourage as the vehicles passed through the area. Peter Obi, who previously contested in the 2023 presidential election, is preparing to challenge the incumbent president, Bola Tinubu, in the upcoming 2027 elections.
