Taiwan Launches Espionage Tip-off Website Amid Tensions

Taiwan's National Security Bureau has launched a new website designed to collect intelligence tip-offs related to Chinese espionage activities. This initiative comes in response to a rising number of espionage cases reported in Taiwan.

The website, which is available in Chinese and English, features a promotional video and aims to encourage citizens, both at home and abroad, to provide information about espionage and crimes committed by Taiwanese separatists. The site is blocked in China, although Chinese citizens can access it using VPNs.

This move follows similar tactics employed by intelligence agencies in the United States, Britain, and Israel, which have enabled citizens to report suspicious activities. The launch of this website is part of Taiwan's broader strategy to enhance national security amid ongoing political tensions with China, particularly as the latter faces economic difficulties and maintains strict political control.
