Taraba State Unveils Permanent Police Headquarters

On Friday, the permanent police headquarters for Taraba State was inaugurated in Jalingo, 35 years after the state's establishment in 1991. Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu, who oversaw the completion of the headquarters, expressed optimism that the new structure would strengthen security operations, improve officer welfare, and deepen police-community relations across the state.

The project was a collaborative effort involving the Nigeria Police Trust Fund and various stakeholders, reflecting a commitment to enhancing security infrastructure. Disu highlighted the importance of providing a conducive work environment for police personnel, emphasizing that their welfare remains a priority.

He urged traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth groups, civil society organizations, and the media to support the police in fostering credible intelligence and collaboration with security agencies. Governor Agbu Kefa reaffirmed his administration's commitment to strengthening security for economic growth and social harmony.

The project is seen as a significant step towards improving operational capacity within law enforcement in Taraba State.
