IGP Disu Advocates Local Collaboration for Policing in Taraba

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Olatunji Disu called for local collaboration to improve policing effectiveness in Taraba State during the commissioning of a new police headquarters in Jalingo. He emphasized the importance of credible intelligence from local communities, traditional rulers, religious groups, youth organizations, civil society, and the media to mitigate criminal activities.

Disu noted that the newly completed police headquarters would serve as a strategic center for coordinating security operations and improving service delivery across Taraba. He expressed gratitude to the Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Moorkwap Dongshal Sebastin, and acknowledged the contributions of the federal and state governments, as well as security stakeholders, in making the project possible.

Governor Agbu Kefa reaffirmed the administration's commitment to strengthening security, stating that security is foundational for peace, economic growth, and social harmony. The governor commended the IGP's leadership and the Nigeria Police Trust Fund for facilitating the project, highlighting the importance of maintaining law and order in the state.
