Nyameh: Taraba State Rich in Resources, Needs Better Management

Professor Jerome Nyameh, the Accord Party’s governorship candidate in Taraba State, asserted on Monday in Jalingo that the state is not poor but faces significant challenges due to the underutilisation and mismanagement of its abundant natural resources. He highlighted that Taraba is endowed with vast agricultural land, mineral resources, forests, water resources, and tourism potentials, which have not been fully harnessed by successive administrations.

Nyameh argued that the economic difficulties in Taraba stem from inadequate planning and poor management rather than a lack of resources. He proposed that with effective leadership and investment, the state could generate substantial internal revenue and create employment opportunities.

He emphasized the importance of developing the agricultural sector, responsibly exploring mineral deposits, and promoting tourism. Nyameh called for investments in critical infrastructure and a governance model focused on accountability and efficient resource utilization to stimulate economic growth.

He expressed confidence that Taraba could become a leading economic hub in Nigeria if its resources were managed properly.
