TCIM Initiative Enhances Storytelling in Nigerian Education

The TCIM initiative, launched in 2018, has successfully engaged 5,000 students across several Nigerian states, including Lagos, Abia, and Edo, through a storytelling-based learning approach. This initiative aims to improve student engagement and confidence in public speaking while fostering self-expression.

It includes a grassroots outreach program where students participate in storytelling exercises. The program is designed to integrate storytelling into the classroom, helping students develop grammar, summarization, writing, and critical thinking skills.

The initiative reflects a broader shift in Nigeria's education sector, with policymakers increasingly exploring alternative teaching methods beyond traditional examination-focused learning. The Ogun State Ministry of Education has adopted materials from TCIM as part of the school curriculum, signaling a growing institutional interest in innovative educational resources.
