TCN Partners with Transport Ministry to Boost Kano Railway

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has partnered with the Federal Ministry of Transport to advance plans for connecting the Kano railway station to the national grid. Engr.

M.K. Bello emphasized the importance of sustainable collaboration among stakeholders to ensure a reliable power supply for railway operations.

The project aims to enhance operational efficiency and improve service delivery within the transport sector, aligning with the federal government's infrastructure development objectives. TCN is also working on delivering two new 100MVA power transformers at the ongoing 330/132/33kV transmission substation in Katsina, which will increase the region's transmission capacity by an additional 160MW.

Ndidi Mbah, TCN's General Manager of Public Affairs, stated that the completion of the substation will significantly boost the capacity to evacuate bulk electricity, thus improving the overall efficiency of power transmission in the area.
