TCN and Transport Ministry Boost Kano Railway Power Supply

On July 7, 2026, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) and the Federal Ministry of Transport engaged stakeholders at TCN's Kano regional headquarters to review plans for a grid connection project aimed at powering railway infrastructure in Kano. The meeting focused on technical requirements, implementation timelines, and operational coordination to ensure a reliable power supply for the railway system.

Bello, the General Manager of Transmission at TCN Kano Region, emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration among stakeholders to facilitate smooth project implementation. The project is designed to enhance operational efficiency of railway services in Kano and support the federal government's agenda to strengthen critical national infrastructure reliant on power supply.

Stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to delivering the project in line with the federal government's infrastructure development agenda, expressing confidence that it would improve service delivery in Nigeria's transport sector.
