TCN Restores Shiroro-Mando Transmission Line 2 Service

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) announced the successful return of the 330kV Shiroro-Mando Transmission Line 2 to service following the completion of extensive repair work. According to a statement from Ndidi Mbah, the line was energized at approximately 8:32 PM on Thursday, February 19, 2026.

The repairs were part of a technical intervention aimed at ensuring the integrity and reliable operation of the infrastructure, adhering strictly to safety and quality standards. With both circuits of the Shiroro-Mando 330kV transmission corridor now fully operational, the restoration reinforces bulk electricity transmission in the Kaduna electricity franchise area, enhancing network flexibility and strengthening the overall system reliability.

This return to service marks a significant milestone in TCN's ongoing efforts to strengthen the transmission backbone and ensure reliable electricity delivery across its network.
