TCN Restores Shiroro-Mando Transmission Line 2 to Service

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) announced the successful return of the 330kV Shiroro-Mando Transmission Line 2 to service following the completion of extensive repair work. General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, confirmed that the line was energized at approximately 8:32 PM on Thursday, February 19, 2026.

The repairs involved a thorough technical intervention aimed at ensuring the integrity and reliable operation of the infrastructure. With both circuits of the Shiroro-Mando 330kV transmission corridor now fully operational, the restoration reinforces bulk electricity transmission in the Kaduna electricity franchise area, enhancing network flexibility and strengthening the overall system reliability.

This milestone marks a significant achievement in TCN's ongoing efforts to bolster the transmission backbone and ensure reliable electricity delivery across its network. TCN expressed appreciation for the cooperation and understanding of customers and stakeholders during the outage period and reaffirmed its commitment to building a resilient and efficient national grid.
