Taraba Teachers and Students Protest for Abducted Oyo Pupils

On Tuesday, members of the Nigeria Union of Teachers from Taraba State, alongside students from various schools, staged a peaceful protest in Jalingo. They demanded the immediate release of pupils and a teacher recently abducted in Oyo State.

The protest march, which took place on major streets including near the Ty Danjuma House, featured placards with messages urging the federal government and security agencies to protect schools and ensure a safe educational environment. Dr.

Augustina Godwin, the Commissioner for Secondary Education, condemned the abduction as a tragic attack on the future of Nigerian children and reiterated the Taraba State government's commitment to ensuring safety in schools. The protest concluded peacefully, with participants submitting messages to the government urging urgent action to secure the release of the abducted individuals and to strengthen security around schools nationwide.
