Nigeria's Chukwuma, Ogundiran Face Setbacks for World Relays

Rosemari Chukwuma and Bless Ogundiran's inability to compete at the World Relay Championships 2026 has significantly impacted Nigeria's campaign. The championships are scheduled for May 2-3, 2026, at the Botswana National Stadium in Gaborone.

Chukwuma's travel was delayed due to her passport arriving late from the embassy, while Ogundiran is currently awaiting results from a gender verification test required by World Athletics. Both athletes were unable to link up with the Nigerian contingent ahead of the event due to circumstances beyond their control.

Despite these setbacks, AFN and the Nigerian Sports Commission (NSC) are reportedly making efforts to ensure the team's best performance. Chukwuma and Ogundiran were expected to contribute to Nigeria's women's 4x100m and mixed 4x100m relay teams, respectively.

Their absence poses a significant challenge as Nigeria prepares for the championships.
