Nigeria and China Strengthen Cooperation on Infrastructure

On a strategic meeting held in Abuja, Joseph Tegbe, the Director General of the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership, and Chinese Ambassador Yu Dunhai discussed ways to deepen Nigeria-China cooperation in the sectors of power generation and infrastructure. The meeting focused on expanding collaboration within the comprehensive strategic partnership framework, identifying practical areas for cooperation that could accelerate Nigeria's economic transformation and modernization agenda.

Ambassador Yu congratulated Tegbe on his appointment and reaffirmed China's commitment to support Nigeria's development aspirations, pledging continued cooperation to implement agreements reached during the recent Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit in Beijing. Tegbe emphasized the importance of China as a key development partner for Nigeria and expressed the Nigerian government's commitment to deepen relations across critical sectors.

He identified power, infrastructure, manufacturing, and modern agriculture as priority areas for expanding cooperation to unlock economic opportunities, create jobs, and improve living standards.
