Nigerian Military Sees 213% Rise in Terrorist Surrenders

The Nigerian military announced a significant 213% increase in the number of terrorist fighters and associates surrendering to troops in the North East within a week. This increase is a result of ongoing operations conducted by Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), which focuses on degrading terrorist capabilities and disrupting their logistics and supply networks.

Captain Mohammed Goni, the Acting Military Information Officer at the Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), disclosed this information in a statement released on X on Wednesday. The military operations included coordinated ground actions and engagements against identified terrorist positions.

Goni noted that the rise in surrenders reflects a growing willingness among terrorist fighters and associates to abandon their activities and adhere to established surrender procedures. The operations have been effective in various locations across the North East, contributing to the increased number of surrenders compared to the previous week.
