TETFund Allocates N6 Billion for ICT Centres Nationwide

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has committed N6 billion to establish ICT Experience Centres in Nigeria's six geopolitical zones to enhance digital skills and human capital development in tertiary institutions. On Thursday, First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu inaugurated the South-East zonal ICT experience centre at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State.

This initiative is part of the Renewed Hope Initiative and aims to equip students and lecturers with practical skills in digital literacy, software development, data science, multimedia, online learning, entrepreneurship, and emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI). Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, Chairman of the TETFund Board of Trustees, stated that N1 billion has been allocated for each zone, with the centres designed to align Nigeria’s education system with global technological standards.

Arc. Sonny Echono, Executive Secretary of TETFund, emphasized that the centre represents an investment in the future of Nigeria, aiming to enhance graduate employability and foster innovation.
