TETFund Engages Institutions on Education Funding and Tech

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) organized a two-day strategic engagement with heads of beneficiary institutions, chairmen of governing councils, and bursars to discuss sustainable funding, infrastructure development, digital transformation, and improved management of intervention projects in Nigeria's higher education sector. Executive Secretary Arch Sonny Echono stated that this annual meeting allows stakeholders to review existing interventions, identify challenges, and set priorities for the upcoming year.
He emphasized the importance of this year's discussions due to changing economic realities and the transition from the national tax framework to a development levy regime. Echono also highlighted issues such as disagreements between governing councils and principal officers regarding procurement processes and project implementation.
He urged institutions to adopt digital learning platforms, noting that over 60 percent of teaching staff should be competent in modern teaching methods. The meeting aimed to promote understanding among institutional administrators and minimize conflicts that could delay project execution.
