Reno Omokri Emphasizes Party Structure Over Electronic Transmission in Nigerian Elections

Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, has stated that the key issue in Nigerian elections is party structure, not electronic transmission. He highlighted the significance of deploying party agents across all polling units to monitor the electoral process and sign result sheets.

Omokri stressed that relying solely on technology without a strong party presence at the grassroots level could lead to electoral malpractice. He referenced the EC8A official result sheet used at polling units, emphasizing the legal importance of party agents signing these documents.

Omokri's stance is in contrast to Peter Obi and the opposition's focus on real-time electronic transmission of election results. He believes that strengthening party structures at the grassroots level is essential to safeguard against electoral fraud, especially in the upcoming 2023 general elections.

The Labour Party, according to Omokri, must ensure the presence of party agents at every polling unit nationwide to address concerns about electronic transmission and prevent cheating.
