Oyo APC Criticizes Opposition Summit as Futile Effort

The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed an opposition summit held in Ibadan as a futile endeavor. The party's spokesman stated that the attendees, including leaders from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), do not possess the capability to pose a serious challenge to the ruling party.

He characterized the summit as a gathering of naive political players and criticized the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, for allegedly failing in governance. The spokesman further warned against any threats associated with the summit, asserting that the APC is committed to ensuring peace and credibility in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

He emphasized that the opposition's attempts to strategize are misguided and that the ruling party remains significantly ahead in political standing, likening the situation to a marathon where one cannot catch up with a competitor who is several kilometers ahead.
