Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya Elected NBA's Second Female President

Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya has emerged as the 33rd President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), making history as the second female president since the association's establishment six decades ago. She won the election with 12,317 votes, representing 47.18% of the total votes cast, defeating Lateef Akangboso, who received 7,934 votes, and Olumuyiwa Akinboro, who garnered 5,855 votes.

Badejo-Okusanya, born on January 15, 1967, comes from a distinguished academic family. She studied English at the University of Lagos before obtaining her law degree (LL.B) in 2000 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2002.

She has extensive experience in commercial law, arbitration, and dispute resolution, having worked at Olaniwun Ajayi LP and co-founding Africa Law Practice NG. She has served in various capacities within the NBA and has been involved in significant legal reforms in Nigeria.

On September 29, 2025, she was elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
