Three Women Killed in Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Crash

On Friday, around 5:24 PM, a tragic accident occurred on the Long Bridge of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, resulting in the deaths of three women and injuries to ten others. The spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi, reported that the crash involved three vehicles: a white Toyota bus (registration number KJA 247 YM), a white Toyota Corolla (BDG 867 HG), and a white Mazda bus (AGL 891 XX).

A total of 16 individuals, comprising 12 males and four females, were involved in the incident. Eyewitnesses indicated that excessive speeding and loss of control led to the vehicle somersaulting into a ditch.

Rescue operations were conducted by teams from TRACE, the Federal Road Safety Corps, the police, and the Ogun State Ambulance and Emergency Service. Six injured passengers were transported to the Lagos State Accident and Emergency Service, while the deceased were taken to local morgues.

The vehicles involved were recovered and moved to the Warewa Police Station for further investigation.
