Gunmen Kill Three in Plateau Community Attack

On Wednesday at 7 PM, gunmen attacked the Torok community in Plateau, resulting in the deaths of three residents identified as Ezekiel Zakka, David Yakubu, and Dauda Habila. Albert Tok, a resident, reported that the assailants opened fire, causing residents to flee the scene.

The Berom Youth Moulder Association (BYM) condemned the killings, describing the attack as barbaric and calling for immediate action from security agencies to arrest those responsible. Rwang Tengwong, on behalf of the BYM, expressed condolences to the families of the victims and highlighted the ongoing insecurity faced by the Berom community.

The association urged the Plateau State Government and the federal government to move beyond routine condemnations and implement concrete measures to protect vulnerable communities in the Riyom Local Government Area. They also appealed to residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies.

The spokesperson for the state police command, DSP Alabo Alfr, and Captain Polycap Oteh did not respond to inquiries at the time of the report.
