Tijaniyya Council Condoles Tinubu Over Sheikh Bauchi's Death

On November 26, 2025, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, the former leader of the Tijaniyya Islamic organization in Nigeria, passed away at the age of 98. In response, the Supreme Council of Tijaniyya Worldwide visited President Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja to convey their condolences.

The delegation, which included members from Algeria, Nigeria, and Senegal, represented over 400 million members of the organization globally. The visit featured Khalifa Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi leading the delegation, with the condolence message delivered by Sheikh Ali Bin Arabi, the Khalifa of Tijaniyya in Algeria.

Sheikh Ali Bin Arabi acknowledged the strong ties between Nigeria and Algeria and pledged to maintain their spiritual relationship. President Tinubu expressed gratitude for the visit and paid tribute to Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, stating, “We miss our father, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi.

He was a beloved father and a great leader.” He also commended the Tijaniyya movement for its contributions to Islam across Africa and worldwide.
