TikTok Creator Love Dooshima Released After Detention

Love Dooshima, a Nigerian TikTok creator, was detained by the Nigerian Police Force for several hours after her viral video questioning the durability of a commercial loaf of bread gained widespread attention. The incident began when Dooshima claimed that a loaf she purchased remained fresh for nearly two months, sparking a heated debate about product safety.

Following the video's popularity, she received a police invitation, which led to her questioning at the Zone 7 police headquarters in Abuja. Human rights lawyer Inibeh Effiong announced her release at 12:30 PM on Tuesday after senior police officials intervened.

Dooshima had honored the police invitation at 12 PM on Monday but was detained afterward. Effiong expressed concern for her health during detention, noting that she required medication due to hypertension.

The case has attracted national interest, raising questions about law enforcement's involvement in consumer complaints and corporate reputation.
