TikToker Love Dooshima Alleges Police Mistreatment

Love Dooshima, a TikTok content creator, reported an incident involving the Nigerian Police after she was invited to discuss her viral video questioning the safety of a loaf of bread that remained fresh for nearly two months. Upon her arrival at the police station, she alleged that she was treated like a criminal, with her phone confiscated and her freedom restricted.

Dooshima claimed that during her interaction with the police, she was insulted and accused of seeking clout for public interest. She insisted that her video was part of a broader advocacy for health and food safety.

Tensions escalated when she refused to hand over a bread sample for testing, leading to her alleged detention. The Nigerian Police Force, represented by Aliyu Giwa, denied her claims, stating she was not detained.

Human rights lawyer Inibeh Effiong disclosed that Dooshima was released around 12:30 AM on Tuesday following intervention from senior police authorities. The incident has sparked widespread debate on food safety and the treatment of individuals raising consumer issues.
