Tinubu and APC Leaders Fear El-Rufai's Political Influence

Moham Bard, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stated in a broadcast interview that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are intimidated by former Kaduna State Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai. Bard argued that El-Rufai's political influence has made him a significant threat to the ruling party, prompting efforts to suppress him through legal challenges.

He claimed that the legal actions against El-Rufai are politically motivated rather than purely judicial, suggesting that the president fears El-Rufai's potential to disrupt the political landscape. Bard questioned why other opposition figures, such as Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, have not faced similar legal scrutiny, asserting that El-Rufai's situation is unique due to his political relevance.

He concluded that the current administration is attempting to keep El-Rufai from gaining further political power.
