Tinubu Congratulates Oyebanji on Ekiti Re-election Victory

President Bola Tinubu congratulated Governor Biodun Oyebanji on his re-election victory in the Ekiti State governorship election held on Saturday. Tinubu commended the people of Ekiti State for their peaceful and orderly conduct during the election, which he described as a demonstration of trust in Oyebanji's leadership.

In a statement issued on Sunday by his special adviser, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu praised the security agencies for maintaining law and order during the polls and urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to continue improving the conduct of free, fair, and credible elections ahead of the Osun governorship election in August 2027. Oyebanji emerged as the first governor in Ekiti State's history to win re-election back-to-back, securing 319,224 votes against his closest rival from the People's Democratic Party, Olumayokun Oluyed.

Tinubu noted Oyebanji's first term achievements in infrastructure, agriculture, youth employment, education, healthcare, and rural development, and called for unity among stakeholders to consolidate these achievements over the next four years.
