Tinubu Directs ICRC on Gas Command Centre via PPP

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has instructed the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) to guide the implementation of the National Gas Infrastructure Command Centre (NGCC) strictly through a public-private partnership (PPP) framework, with no public funds or contingent liabilities for the government. This directive was disclosed by ICRC's head of media and public relations, Ifeanyi Nwoko, during the inauguration meeting of the project steering committee for the NGCC in Abuja.

Dr. Jobson Oseodion Ewalefoh, the Director General of ICRC, emphasized that the initiative aims to create a national platform for real-time monitoring and coordination of Nigeria's gas infrastructure, fully financed by the private sector without recourse to public funds or sovereign guarantees.

The project is considered strategically important for Nigeria's energy architecture, and adherence to regulatory safeguards is essential. The steering committee includes representatives from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, NMDPRA, and NNPC Ltd.
