Tinubu Group Proposes Quarterly Summit for Leaders

The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Ideological Group, led by Convener Bamidele Atoyebi, has urged President Bola Tinubu to establish a quarterly leadership summit for governors, local government chairmen, and political appointees. This initiative aims to strengthen policy coordination and accelerate grassroots development across Nigeria.

Atoyebi stated that the country’s major challenge is no longer the availability of funds but ensuring that all tiers of government work towards a shared vision and defined priorities. He highlighted ongoing efforts to address issues such as insecurity, economic challenges from fuel subsidy removal, and infrastructure deficits.

Despite increased allocations to states and local governments, many Nigerians have yet to see tangible benefits from these reforms. Atoyebi proposed a monthly policy focus to assign specific national development priorities and a quarterly summit to review progress and share best practices among key political figures.

This framework is designed to enhance policy implementation and reinforce a common national agenda.
