Tinubu Commends Forces for Rescuing 308 Abductees

President Bola Tinubu praised the successful rescue of 308 abducted Nigerians from Kainji Lake National Park Forest, marking it as the largest same-day rescue operation by a joint security team. The rescued individuals included 163 from Woro Community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State and 145 from Niger State.

The operation was conducted by the National Counter-Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in collaboration with the Armed Forces of Nigeria, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigeria Police Force. Following the rescue, the victims are receiving first aid and medical attention at Wawa Cantonment.

After medical evaluations, they will be handed over to their respective state governments for further care and family reunification. President Tinubu directed security agencies to enhance early warning systems, improve intelligence gathering, and strengthen rapid response capabilities to prevent future incidents, reaffirming his administration's commitment to eliminating security threats and restoring peace across Nigeria.
