Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has alleged that President Bola Tinubu is 90 years old and has stated his readiness to provide evidence to support this claim in court. Atiku, who is the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 election, made these remarks during an interview with the BBC.

He emphasized his own physical fitness and capability to serve the country, questioning why he should not offer his services when he believes the current president is significantly older and facing health challenges. Atiku asserted that he possesses documents and evidence that could establish Tinubu's actual age and indicated his willingness to present this material in court if necessary.

He expressed his political experience, having contested for the presidency multiple times, and criticized the current state of security in Nigeria, referencing the inadequate number of police officers compared to other countries.
