Tinubu Appoints Fadewa as Special Adviser on Security

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made a fresh appointment by designating Fadewa as a special adviser on homeland security. This appointment, announced via a statement from the Secretary to the Government of the Federation on Monday, reflects Tinubu's administration's commitment to strengthening internal security coordination and improving intelligence-led operations.

Fadewa, a highly decorated retired general with three decades of military intelligence experience, has played a significant role in shaping Nigeria's modern intelligence coordination framework from 2015 to 2021 as the principal general staff officer in the Office of the National Security Adviser. He spearheaded the establishment of the Intelligence Fusion Centre, which is designed as a multi-agency intelligence platform involving various security agencies.

Following his military service, Fadewa has continued to contribute to discussions on policy and civil security reform as a senior research fellow at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre in Abuja. President Tinubu expressed confidence that Fadewa's appointment would enhance ongoing efforts to build a safer Nigeria through better coordination of homeland security initiatives.
