Tinubu's Agenda: Security and Development Interlinked

On Monday, at the North Central Regional Security Summit titled “Collaborative Approaches to Strengthening Security and Regional Stability” in Makurdi, Benue State, Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (retd.), stated that Nigeria must tackle the root causes of insecurity for effective national development. He asserted that security and development are inseparable, highlighting that military action alone cannot resolve the complex security challenges facing Nigeria.

Musa emphasized the need for timely intelligence, effective coordination, community engagement, and responsible governance. He noted that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu prioritizes the security and wellbeing of Nigerians.

Musa pointed out that the North Central region is vital for agriculture, commerce, and national cohesion, and ongoing issues such as communal conflicts and banditry threaten stability. Retired Air Vice Marshal Monday Morgan, delivering the keynote address, stressed the importance of collaboration in the region's security architecture.
