Tinubu Renews Tenures of NTA and NAN Executives

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has renewed the tenure of Abdulhamid Salihu Dembos as the Director-General of the National Television Authority (NTA) and Ali Mohammed Ali as the Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) for an additional three-year term. This renewal is effective from October 20, 2026.

A statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy, confirmed that both Dembos and Ali were first appointed on October 20, 2023. Dembos, who hails from Yola, Adamawa State, has a rich background in media, having served as the Executive Director of Marketing at NTA and previously held various positions within the organization since joining as an announcer in 1989.

Ali, a veteran journalist with over 30 years of experience, has a strong focus on media evolution and content development. President Tinubu urged both executives to justify the confidence placed in them by demonstrating commitment to their organizations' mandates and the government's Renewed Hope Agenda.
