Tinubu Advocates Stronger Rotary Partnership for Health

During a presidential inauguration dinner in Abuja, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu urged for a stronger partnership between the Federal Government of Nigeria and Rotary International to advance healthcare, education, and community development. This event honored Olayinka Hakeem Babalola, who assumed office as the second African president of Rotary International on July 1.

Tinubu emphasized the alignment of Rotary's core values with his administration's agenda, particularly in promoting peace, fighting diseases, and improving maternal and child health. He commended Rotary's pivotal role in eradicating wild poliovirus in Nigeria and across Africa.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo noted Babalola's emergence as a significant milestone for Nigeria and Africa, urging him to strengthen Rotary's foundation and create greater opportunities for young leaders. The partnership aims to deliver measurable benefits to Nigerians, focusing on primary healthcare, education, and youth skill development.
