Tinubu to Announce Salary Increase for Soldiers Soon

On Monday, Minister of Defence Gen. Christopher Musa (Rtd.) announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will soon declare a new salary increase for personnel of the Armed Forces.

This announcement was made during a training and financial empowerment workshop for widows and wives of military personnel in Abuja. Musa emphasized the Federal Government's commitment to adequately rewarding military personnel for their sacrifices in safeguarding the nation.

He noted that soldiers currently receive ₦100,000, an increase from ₦49,000 achieved two years ago, and expressed confidence that another raise will be announced soon. The workshop, themed “Renewed Hope for Families of the Armed Forces of Nigeria Through Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development,” was organized by the Ministry of Defence in collaboration with SMEDAN.

Musa acknowledged the critical role of military families, particularly spouses and widows, in supporting personnel who face complex security challenges and extended separations from their families.
