Tinubu to Open Security Conference in Abuja on August 12

The Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS Nigeria), in collaboration with the Muslim World League, will host an International Conference on National Security for Sustainable Socio-Economic Development in Abuja on August 12, 2026. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will declare the conference open at the International Conference Centre.

The event aims to address national security, counter-extremism, and sustainable socio-economic development, bringing together Islamic scholars, policymakers, security experts, and international stakeholders. Participants will include judicial leaders, security experts, and international delegates who will serve as guests of honour and keynote contributors.

The conference seeks to foster dialogue, strengthen partnerships, and develop sustainable responses to security challenges while promoting socio-economic development. The collaboration between JIBWIS Nigeria and the Muslim World League underscores a commitment to diversity, social harmony, and peaceful coexistence, building on previous engagements between Muslim and Christian leaders to enhance national unity and societal progress.
