Conference on National Security Scheduled for August 2026

The International Conference on National Security for Sustainable Socio-Economic Development is scheduled for August 12, 2026, at the International Conference Centre in Abuja. The event will convene Islamic scholars, policymakers, security experts, and international stakeholders to discuss strategies for promoting peace, stability, and inclusive development.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to officially open the conference, which will also feature judicial leaders, security experts, and international delegates as guests of honour and keynote contributors. The collaboration between JIBWIS Nigeria and the Muslim World League aims to foster dialogue, strengthen partnerships, and develop sustainable approaches to security challenges while promoting development.

The conference will include high-level plenary sessions on national security and development, sessions on diversity and inclusive coexistence, and expert panels focused on countering extremism and enhancing community resilience. Additionally, global partnership roundtables will be held to advance sustainable socio-economic development, providing a platform for participants to exchange ideas and strengthen partnerships toward achieving peace and stability.
