Tinubu Reaffirms Commitment to Interfaith Dialogue

President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria reaffirmed his administration's commitment to prioritizing interfaith dialogue to promote peace, harmony, and tolerance among the country's diverse religious communities. This declaration was made during an audience with Archbishop Paul Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States at the Holy See, in Abuja.

Tinubu emphasized the need for continued efforts in religious harmony and acknowledged the significant contributions of religious leaders in promoting peace. He highlighted the long-standing relationship between the Catholic Church and Nigeria, particularly during his tenure as Governor of Lagos State.

Tinubu also expressed appreciation for the Catholic Church's role in education and health, indicating plans to restore mission schools and religious institutions. He assured Archbishop Gallagher of the government's commitment to addressing security challenges, investing in youth to prevent exploitation by terrorists, and maintaining progress in military operations.

The meeting also marked the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Nigeria and the Holy See.
