Tinubu Calls for Unity and Cooperation at Security Conference

On Tuesday, during a two-day international security conference in Abuja organized by the Jama’atu Izalatil Bidiah wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS Nigeria) in partnership with the Muslim World League (MWL), President Bola Ahmed Tinubu called on Nigerians to avoid hate speech and preserve national unity. Represented by Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Tinubu stressed the importance of stronger national and international cooperation to combat emerging security threats.

He noted that the conference, themed “Diversity and Social Peace: Partnership for a Promising Future,” was timely given Nigeria's evolving security challenges. The president highlighted the need for collaboration among government authorities, faith leaders, and stakeholders to address national and digital security issues.

He also commended the MWL for choosing Nigeria as the conference venue and expressed the federal government’s readiness to support peace initiatives. Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III emphasized the importance of dialogue between Christians and Muslims, advocating for mutual respect to foster peace.
