Tinubu Urges INEC for Credible Osun Election Outcome

President Bola Tinubu has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to guarantee that the results of the upcoming governorship election in Osun State reflect the will of the people. In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu urged INEC to use this election as a benchmark for the credibility of the 2027 general elections.

The election features 15 candidates, including incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke, All Progressives Congress candidate Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, and African Democratic Congress candidate Hon. Najeem Salaam.

Tinubu encouraged eligible voters to participate actively and assured them of their safety during the election process. He emphasized the importance of a transparent, free, and fair election, charging the Inspector-General of Police and other security heads to ensure maximum security at polling units, preventing any disruptions.

He reiterated that the election's outcome must reflect the electorate's choice.
