TNN Finalizes 2027 Strategy Amid Political Negotiations

Team New Nigeria (TNN) is set to finalize its 2027 political strategy, with a report expected next week detailing its manifesto and operational framework. The committee, chaired by Dawud Okanlawon, aims to chart a path for political participation ahead of the elections scheduled for January 2026.

TNN claims to have built a grassroots base of 43.6 million registered members across Nigeria's 774 local government areas. The movement, which focuses on youth and technocrats, seeks to disrupt conventional political arrangements.

However, it alleges that its efforts to secure formal recognition from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have been frustrated, citing slow registration processes and external political pressure. TNN has adopted a unified block approach and is in coalition talks with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), although negotiations have stalled over TNN's demand for 25% representation in the party's internal structure.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is also courting TNN, proposing a "Renew Hope" arrangement as TNN continues to engage with platforms including the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to find viable participation in the 2027 elections.
