India Promises Unmatched Commonwealth Games in 2030

Adille Sumariwalla, the Vice President of World Athletics and President of the Athletics Federation of India, stated that the 2030 Commonwealth Games, to be hosted in India, will be the largest and most competitive edition in history. He emphasized that the event will feature enhanced infrastructure, facilities, and hospitality, along with an expanded number of sports and events, allowing for greater athlete participation.

Sumariwalla expressed confidence that the Games would surpass all previous editions, aiming to provide opportunities across various sporting disciplines. He also acknowledged the efforts of the 2026 Commonwealth Games organizers, who successfully managed the event despite receiving the hosting responsibility on short notice, and noted the challenges they faced, including a reduced sporting program.
